A Night and A Day

A night, a day, the darkness that binds
My heart, my soul, taken for a ride
The sky, the earth, the world that unbinds

I ask, what’s the point of being kind
A heart so blue, it has only lied
A night, a day, the darkness that binds

God’s presence, always seeking to find
His ear I always seek to confide
The sky, the earth, the world that unbinds

And looking back on sight that is hind
Will all this hurt remain by my side
A night, a day, the darkness that binds

An angel’s kiss on my weary mind
Life caught in a nightmarish landslide
The sky, the earth, the world that unbinds

O, Lord, I don’t wish to be unkind
My heart, my soul, taken for a ride
A night, a day, the darkness that binds
The sky, the earth, the world that unbinds

Angel’s Kiss

Painting by Todd Lockwood

Angel’s kiss that shattered the daylight

To live a century in two nights

A love that felt it’d last forever

A lone heart refusing to ignite

Disbelief in the light bearer

Even when they see the firelight

Angel’s kiss that shattered the daylight

Demons causing mischief at midnight

Everything looks better in hindsight

You find out your angel’s a biter

And still your cold heart fails to ignite

How to deal with an ancient fighter

When she sees your face in the twilight

To live a century in two nights

Haunting love story choked with foresight

Pinprick of blood caused from a dagger

To live a century in two nights

Angel’s kiss that shattered the daylight

Destiny

my heart pounds and I

reach beyond the heights of our love

into space beyond

the stars twinkle

laughing gently as they

begin to spell our names with their light

how often have the gods

envied the love which has

settled within our souls

one kiss from you

and the earth trembles

one look from you

and my heart erupts

with molten lava

what shall happen

when our souls converge

when two become one

and destiny begins
